Don’t be afraid of the “Greenies” Bio, Organic and Sustainable Wines

Don’t Fear the  “Green” Wine Tasting
 at Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe
Friday, May 14th from 7-9pm

“Excuse me, where is your organic and biodynamic wine department?”  This is a question we are asked often as wine consumers begin looking for more “green” wine choices.   It only seems natural that people begin to trade in their conventional wines for organic and biodynamic choices.  As we grow more aware of the consequences our actions have on the planet and environment, organic and biodynamic goods are considered by many as a breath of fresh air.  Many in the wine industry attribute the rise of the Slow Food movement, the popularity of farmers’ markets and gourmet grocery stores, celebrity chefs, the idea of eating local, seasonal, and natural ingredients, and the overall foodie culture as prompting consumers to become more concerned with the wine they are drinking.  Though the “green” movement seems relatively young, biodynamic and organic farming has a history dating all the way back to the late 1800s.  Green wines are not a category to fear and you might be surprised to know, much of what you are drinking from Wolfe’s may already be “green”.  Join us as we taste through several “green” wines.
